Title:Challenges in 5G Mobile Network R&D in Japan

Abstract:

This talk introduces the Fifth Generation Mobile Communications Promotion Forum (5GMF), the initiative to conduct and promote research and development concerning the fifth generation (5G) mobile communications systems. The 5G mobile communications system is expected to create new businesses and markets in a diverse range of industries and to bring greater affluence to people's lives. Hence, the focus of research and development has been extended to an efficient design of overall mobile communications networks. This talk covers the overall network architecture, use cases and technical challenges identified and discussed in this Forum.
