FIRST@PC Testbed #

  • Contact: JongWon Kim (Mjongwon@gist.ac.kr)
  • Participants: GIST, Chungnam National University, POSTECH, Kyung Hee University
  • Description: FIRST@PC (Future Internet Research for Sustainable Testbed) is an experimental project in South Korea aimed at creating a future Internet testbed and investigating innovative ideas on developed platforms. The primary goal of the project is research and development for a media-centric service composition. From 2009 to 2014, dynamic media-centric service composition technologies using virtualized network environments will be constructed, and results will be shared globally.

OpenFlow@KREONET #

  • Contact: Wontaek Hong (Mwthong@kisti.re.kr)
  • Participants: KISTI
  • Description: OF@KREONET is a nation-wide OpenFlow testbed, which is operated in a pure layer 2 environment over KREONET without layer 3 tunneling. It
consists of controllers and commercial OpenFlow switches (HP ProCurve switches) which have been installed in three cities: Daejeon, Seoul and Kwangju. They are connected to each other by 1G dedicated links and are also connected to campus OpenFlow networks such as OF@GIST and OF@CNU. It has been used to enable network researchers to run their experiments. Additionally, it will be utilized to design new service platforms for future KREONET.
