Hyunseung Choo
Professor, Sungkyunkwan University, Korea
Hyunseung Choo received the MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and the PhD from the University of Texas at Arlington, in 1990 and 1996, respectively. Since 1998, he has been with the College of Information and Communication Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University (Korea) and is a Professor and Director of the Convergence Research Institute. He had been the Director of the Intelligent HCI Convergence Research Center supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (Korea) from 2008 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been Consultant of Samsung Electronics DMC R&D Center (Next generation interaction). He is Vice President of the Korean Society for Internet Information (KSII) and Executive Director of the Human Computer Interaction Korea. He has published over 350 papers in international journals and refereed conferences. His research interests include embedded networking, mobile computing, and clouds. Dr. Choo has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Korean Society for Internet Information for three years and Journal Editor of Journal of Communications and Networks, ACM Transactions on Internet Technology, Journal of Supercomputing, and Founding Editor of Transactions on Internet and Information Systems since 2010. He is a member of the ACM, IEEE, and IEICE.

Abstract:
How a day in the near future will be like? Most people can imagine their future lives through movies, and many technologies of them are actually becoming true. This presentation discusses the history, trends of IT technology, and its current status. Those are the indications for “Future of things”. This presentation also describes “Things” and their connection with each other, and finally it suggests a key to the future.
